This is a recipe from my hubby. Very simple and fast.

Recipe: Steak Ala Kampung
Adapt: my hubby

You will need...

1/2lb Steak cut beef (any kind)
4-5 cloves of garlic, crushed
black pepper & salt to taste
oyster sauce

All in one step...
Make sure the beef is washed.
Rub in your crushed garlic, salt and black pepper to both sides of the beef.
Now cover both sides of your beef with oyster sauce.

Cooking the steak...
Now there are 2 ways to do this. The easiest way is to fire up the grill and cook it that way, to your liking. Very well done for me :)
The second way is to pan fry it in a pan with a little oil. Fry both side for about 5 minutes each side or when the beef has turned a rich golden brown in color. In a preheat oven of 350F (don't know what it is in Celsius) cook the beef to your liking. Still very well done for me :)

Then slice the beef and add a little color with a parsley leaf of any other decor is fine. I added the juice that came out while the beef was cooking in the oven on top of the beef to add a little more flavor.

Enjoy...

Recipe: Beef Tripe Kerabu

Things you need:

  • 1lb beef tripe - cut into small squares

  • 1tbsp of ginger powder or thumbsize fresh ginger

  • 1 sweet onion

  • 2 shallots

  • lemongrass

  • 5 kaffir lime leaves

  • 1 lime, juiced

  • 3 or more Thai chilies (however spicey you want it)

  • salt to taste

Step 1:
Place the beef tripe in a pot of boiling water. Water should be enough to cover the beef tripe. Add about 1 tbsp of ginger powder (thumbsize fresh ginger is fine too).

Cover and cook for about an hour.

Step 2:
While we are waiting, chop onions, shallots, lemongrass, lime leaves, Thai chilies and place it in a bowl. Next, cut the lime in half and squeeze out the juice on top of the chopped ingredients.

Step 3:
Once the beef tripe is cooked and soft, chop it into thin slices and add into the bowl mixture. Add salt to taste.
Fast and simple to do. :)

I was craving for kebab and I found this recipe on RasaMalaysia.com and thought I should give it a try. All I did was add...

Recipe: Beef Kebab Koobideh

1 small chopped onion,
1 tsp turmeric powder,
1/2 tsp chili powder (or however spicey you want it),
1 or 2 glove crushed garlic,
a handful of chopped parsley leaves,
1 egg,
salt and pepper to taste,
to about 1lb of minced meat

I mixed them all together and set it aside for about 1/2 hour before I put on bamboo skewers. I then grilled them and brushed olive oil to keep them from drying up while they were cooking. The easy way to grill this is, if you have a flat pan, grease it with some olive oil and carefully place the kebab on it. I didn't feel like grilling outside in the rain. I also made a quick tabouli salad along with it. All in all, it was fast and tasty. Sorry the picture didn't turn out as good as I hoped for. I couldn't stop eating them long enough to take the picture. :)
